Jerry: We continued to build the base and finished the base. We have no idea about the things we are going to build but we were aiming for the flags and flipping the thing. We are trying to build a launcher and we are searching for the ideal angle that will allow us to hit all flags without adjusting the angle but just by moving around. The balls that we thought that we would place on top of the plate will be optional and will be the last in priority.

Sean Lee: In the club block, we finished fixing and building our base on one side. We were able to finish the other side and now our robot is complete. I feel that we are behind the other groups. Now, we should start thinking about what to put on the top to earn points in the competition. We did think about what to put on top a little. However, we could not finish the thoughts due to the fact that we need to finish our base first. We decided that we would think about this after we are done with the base. Next class, we are going to work on programming the base and thinking about what we are going to aim for.
Ryosuke: Today, finally the robotic class has finished using the materials, so we were able to start working on our second side. There weren’t any long shaft that we needed, but there were today. We were able to progress a little, putting some gears on the other side. During the club, one of the seniors told us that if we are going to use gears between the wheels, we would only need 1 motor for each side of base. So we decided to change from 2 motors to 1 for each side of base, and started working on removing the motors because they were on edge of a side, and if were going to have 1 motor, we would need it at the middle of a side, between the wheels. We plan to fix the motors and complete the other side next club.
Aaron: Today, we have fixed the problem that was addressed last time. We are currently low on materials so instead of using spacers, we used collars. We finished building one of the sides. Now, the wheel can do a full rotation. After we finished that, we were going to work on the other side but we found out that we were also running low on long shafts. Without the long shafts, we could not attach the wheels. Instead, we worked on writing our goal.
Goal: Our foremost goal is to make our robot big and heavy so that it can stay on top of the uppermost platform. Our second goal is to make our robot able to flip the caps. This will help us gain extra points. To do this, our robot will have to be big and heavy, and it must have an arm to turn the caps. |
