The building process of the bases have continued from last week. Some of the teams have even finished the base and has tested it out to see if the base design works, and it did! Now, to set our sights on the more important part, not to say that movement isn't important. More discussions of how the pick up mechanism works continues. Hopefully we can come up with one that will work and will be not too difficult to build.

Now that the beginners are done with their introduction (building the clawbot and programming it), all of the teams are now ready to work on their own robots. Some teams have even begun building the bases for their robots, while other teams have thought up of ways to pick up cones and built prototypes for what the pickup mechanism will actually look like. The building process will most likely continue on for the next month or so, both in the club and out of the club.
Today, we continued with the split groups. My group started working on the base of our robot. We decided to use aluminum parts for the whole robot. The introduction group also moved on the beginning program the autonomous using EasyC. The third group finished detaching the base from our last years robot to use again for this year. Hopefully we can start progressing some more starting next week. Congratulations to the three new IT officers for the club! Brian Song of 11th grade! Hello all! As a proud member of vex robotics for about 4 years, I have to say that I am thrilled to be the IT officer. Last year, I created a video about our team, and I think that this chance to teach the youngsters about some of the online challenges would be awesome. I am also looking forward to taking over management of this blog. Don't expect anything too amazing, but I will try my best! Jesse Park of 12th grade! Wooky Kim of 12th grade! Today, we split to do three different things: the intro members started learning how to program using EasyC, the more experienced members gathered robot ideas and disassembled our last year's robot to salvage the base. Introducing our new team for the 2017-2018 year! We have had tons of new people join, and sadly some people leaving as well. But no matter! Bound together by the love of robotics, let's hope to have another great year together!
