After a really long winter break, we are back to school! The start of the second semester means that we are back at making the robot starting this week again. And the start of the second semester also means that we are approaching the competition date quickly. All of the teams that are competing are going to make some progress.

It seems like every team has a good start on their robots and many groups are working towards a goal that they have in mind! Apart from building the robots, we also see that a lot of the group members are making thoughtful reflections that are really shown inside the team journals. These reflections provide the benefits of transforming their discussing, planning, building experience into genuine learning about their team values and can help develop the coherence of the group. Overall, we are going making a good progress!
The fundamental idea behind VEX is teamwork. Without teamwork and the right mindset, students are going to have a very hard time figuring out what to do.
And that is why we encourage open discussions throughout the club block to discuss with teammates about what step they should take next. During this club block, we dove into what our goals would be for the upcoming February tournament. Not only do these meaningful discussions help the team come with an idea of what to do next, but also these discussions help the team bond together and cooperate. Time flies when you are in this club!! Today marks the beginning of another school year, and there are several new members. This club block can be a place where members can take a break from all the stress from classes and work towards the goal of competing in Korea's national VEX competition. It isn't all about the competition though. It is also about creating impactful and everlasting memories that they can remember after high school. |
