VEX COMPETITIONVEX tournaments are held for middle school students, high school students or both middle school and high school combined. They can be as small as 24 teams to as large as several hundred teams. There are usually several competitions in every local region, and then there is a state competition where the best teams in the state compete. Teams can compete several times every year rather than preparing for only one competition and then it is all over until next year. This way the kids can improve their robot designs between competitions. The season generally starts as early as November, continuing through the winter and spring months until the VEX Robotics World Championship which is held in April. Here the best teams from around the world come together and compete. For the Every April at VEX Worlds, the REC Foundation announces the rules for the next year’s VRC game. Changing the rules of the game every year keeps things fresh and presents students with an ever-changing challenge. VEX Robotics tournaments are a blast.
